Secure Chorus announces Chairman transition
SECURE CHORUS, 11TH NOVEMBER 2019
Elisabetta Zaccaria, founder and Chairman of the board of directors of Secure Chorus Ltd since 2016, stepped down from the board for personal reasons on the 31st October 2019 and will serve as strategic advisor to the board. Stephen Brown who has served as CIO and director of the board will assume the role of Chairman.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Elisabetta Zaccaria for her contribution as founder of Secure Chorus. Her entrepreneurial spirit and vision have helped to guide the company to this moment, and we look forward to working with her as a strategic advisor.
Elisabetta explains that her decision has been taken for personal reasons in the following letter to her members and colleagues.
I have had the great privilege of leading Secure Chorus Ltd since I founded it in 2016.
After a good deal of thought, I have decided for personal reasons to step down as Chairman of the board of directors. My exceptionally talented board colleague Stephen Brown will take on the role of Chairman going forward.
I remain committed to Secure Chorus’ future and will continue to be involved as an advisor to the board.
Looking back, I am proud of what we have achieved during these years, not least setting up an organisation that serves as a platform for public-private cooperation for the development of forward-looking strategies, common technology standards and tangible capabilities for the security of the information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
I am equally proud that Secure Chorus has played a key role in supporting the UK National Cyber Security Centre’s mission to make “the UK the safest place to live and do work on line.” The importance of our work is underlined by the fact that since 2016 the UK Government has renewed its commitment every year to fund Secure Chorus as part of its £1.9bn transformation investment in the ‘UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2021.’
Our success to date has been underpinned by the commitment and support of our community of members, which includes world-class organisations spanning from governments, major corporates to innovative technology start-ups.
As you know, Roderick Hodgson and I initiated and delivered the transformation of what at its outset was an informal working group into an independent, not-for-profit private sector membership organisation. However, we built Secure Chorus with the conviction that no company could rely solely on its founders and that it needed to be built to transcend us.
For the past four years, we have worked to develop strong foundations and have welcomed on board exceptional talent.
I am very confident from working with Stephen and other colleagues of mine over the past year that they will continue to achieve even greater things in the future.
I wish to offer special thanks to my team, our members and all the stakeholders that have supported me and Secure Chorus to date, because without their trust and commitment over the past four years it would have been impossible to take Secure Chorus to where it is today.
With very best wishes.
